July: The British Seaside

A complete change of venue for this meeting - a swift drive down the motorway we headed out early to the seaside to visit EL, to not only do a bit of sewing, but to celebrate a belated 'big' birthday.

On arrival, the view was amazing - with the hot weather, the sky was blue, the water blue and the beach was filling up quickly.

In exploring the seaside town, we found a vintage car show.

We missed out celebrating EL 20th birthday last October (I know the balloons and paper say otherwise but yes she was only 20!).  So a decision taken a while back was to spoil her while visiting the UK. I think we just about pulled it off!

And we still managed to get some sewing done. A quick show and tell...

HW - a surprising amount achieved with an hour here and there.

A beautiful bowl from CD, made from a kit given to her as a birthday gift from AB

Finishing touches to Jeffrey the Jellyfish - so inspired by EL efforts, CB started one!

Continued work on the weaving of honey bun strips by EL - with a little help from CD.

A jelly fish head from CB.

A few extra hexagons from HW

And some star piecing from CD

It's always good to catch up with old friends! However, we always miss absent friends.
